I am really excited to launch our new series this Sunday. We will be looking at 8 different stories of people in the Bible who encountered God- over the next 8 weeks. Social outcasts, religious leaders, a height-impaired tax collector, a woman who had been around the block, political leaders, blind and lame and even a lost son.
It seems Jesus got into the lives of every kind of people group, socioeconomic class, church goers and party animals. He had a soft heart and thick skin and most of all came to seek and to save that which is lost. As we discover their stories we will be drawn to look at our own life and contemplate our own story, from the good to the bad.
I recently read “A River Runs Through It” which helped put our town Missoula, Montana on the map. Several themes pervade the story such as Religion and Fly-Fishing, and amidst a host of brilliantly developed characters, one emerges that ties them all together: The River. The movie of this great piece of literature ends with the line “all things merge into one and a river runs through it.”
God seems to work that way and behind the scenes in our lives God’s plan and purposes are working to catch us into His stream and fill us with His presence. We desperately desire God’s River to flow through our lives and our beautiful city.
What is your story, and is God in it? Can you make heads or tails of the direction you are going? Join us at Clark Fork City Church the next few weeks for our Sunday Celebration at 10am as we find our story in His.
Take the plunge- Jump in!
Josh
