Missoula

We are here on Purpose

Not your typical Montana small town, Missoula boasts diversity, where cowboys and university professors coexist.  Subaru AWD wagons, 4-wheel drive trucks make up our vehicle selection, along with skittering bikes and greenie hybrids.  College idealists, religious fanatics, political activists, authors, poets and songwriters all clamor to have their voices heard. Missoula is the largest media market in the state with a population of 68,208, making it the second-largest city behind Billings. There are another 107,320 people in the surrounding area. Missoula was recently ranked number 10 in CNN Money’s list of the best places to launch a small business.  Local news sources include the Missoulian and the Missoula Independent. Missoula is the home of the University of Montana and is served by an international airport.

Gone are the days of covered wagons and mining claims, but just outside of Missoula are some of Montana’s wildest places.  Missoula is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. We continually place in the top ten cities to live for outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, hunting or fishing. We also have a great array of skate parks, river trails, pools, as well a bustling downtown and hip strip.

In the book of Acts 17:26, it says God determines  our exact places to live.  We believe God planted our church in our great city. In a world filled with so many voices, options, paradigms and puzzles, we hope Christ’s love will be heard over them all.  A common slogan in our city is “Keep Missoula Weird!”  The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 2:9 that “you are a peculiar people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light!”

Keep Missoula weird! Do your part and let’s love our city!
